Singer-songwriter
Renske Taminiau took control of her career from the very beginning. She studied at the Newcastle School of Music for the simple reason that pop star Sting had founded this academy. Taminiau composes, produces and also makes the arrangements for her own CDs. 'I stick my nose into everything,' is her slogan. This has already resulted in the wonderful debut album
Waiting to be Told. Her music is a combination of pop and jazz, with a whiff of folk. She refers to the work of American singer Lizz Wright as a source of inspiration. Taminiau is also part of the jazz-funk formation Wicked Jazz Sounds, which recently made its debut with an album release. Moreover, she sings backing vocals for Dutch theatrical stars Mathilde Santing and Brigitte Kaandorp. And to make it all even more exciting… she is a gifted painter, too.
