In the Netherlands, trumpeter
Eric Vloeimans is the most lauded musician of his generation. This is not only due to his exceptional talent, but also definitely to his drive for innovation. Two years ago, Vloeimans went electric with
Gatecrash. With a newly recruited band in which pianist Jeroen van Vliet is particularly excellent, and the young drummer Jasper van Hulten proves himself to be a super talent, Vloeimans was able to do beautiful justice to his feel for melody. The first two albums were recorded live in Rotterdam, in Theater Lantaren/Venster. In September, Gatecrash's third CD will be released. Response to the live performances oft his line-up has been overwhelming and it was for good reason that Vloeimans won an Edison (Dutch Grammy Award) for this project.
