As tradition dictates, a select group of swinging bands will be playing on the stage near the entrance of the North Sea Jazz Festival. The Top Dog Brass Band is a funky "marching band" from the eastern part of Germany that always succeeds in getting people to dance, and Lefties Soul Connection will perform a fierce mix of funk and soul. Marockin' Brass blends the sounds of a large section of brass players with the rhythms of Moroccan percussionists. Guitarist Robin Nolan excels in gipsy jazz à la Django Reinhardt and the jump blues of The Electrophonics should be present at every jazz festival.
