Tango and jazz are molded together in this fruitful cooperation between the Parco della Musica Jazz Orchestra and saxophonist Javier Girotto. The Argentinean (who is also performing at this year's festival in duo format with Luciano Biondini) presents the interesting project Argentina - Escenas and Big Band, together with Italy's only true jazz orchestra of note. The focus is on tango arrangements for big band and jazz classics. The orchestra is led by Maurizio Giammarco and comprises some of Rome's finest jazz musicians who have worked together before with special international guests like Mike Stern and Uri Caine. Every two months the orchestra appears at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, where it is exposed to both traditional jazz and modern trends.
