At the tender age of three years old, Victor Wooten learned to play his elder brother's bass and two years later he made his stage debut as the youngest member of The Wooten Brothers Band. The family ensemble played numbers of James Brown, Sly Stone and other soul and R&B classics. At the end of the eighties, Victor Wooten went to Nashville where he met banjoist Béla Fleck. As a member of Fleck's band, The Flecktones, he made many recordings and toured the globe. He has been pursuing a successful solo career since the nineties. The recently released album Palmystery is one of the finest he has ever made. His brothers Regi (guitar) and Joseph are also on the CD and both are outstanding musicians who will also be appearing at this year's North Sea Jazz Festival.
