It was impossible to foresee that the planned performance of Joe Zawinul with the Metropole Orkest on 26 Januari 2008 could not take place. On 11 September 2007 Joe Zawinul passed away and the Metropole Orkest and the Concertgebouw decided to make the original Joe Zawinul show a tribute to Joe Zawinul.
