He's shaken off his Idols' image for quite some time now. After winning the television show, singer Boris showed that he was more than a one-hit wonder. Boris, son of jazz singer (and Edison winner) Gé Titulaer, was seventeen years old when he entered the Maastricht conservatory. He broke off his studies to dedicate all his time to music with the soul formation Sofuja, a band that was especially successful in Spain. After Idols his debut album Rely On Me was released, showcasing retro-like soul with funk and jazz influences, completed with catchy pop songs. He did a duet with singer Angie Stone and performed a lot with the hip-hop band Relax. For his new album Holy Pleasure he went to England and America to work on new songs with among others the soul/funk group The Family Stand. The result sounds original and is best compared to the dark and rough funk and soul music of the sixties.
