Young German jazz is represented by JazzIndeed featuring vocal virtuoso Michael Schiefel. He is characterized as the German answer to Bobby McFerrin, the singer he's learned a lot of. A logical comparison since Schiefel, with his slightly androgynous, flexible voice, takes care of everything: from melodies to beats. As can be heard on his solo album Don't Touch My Animals. In Germany he is seen as a vocal miracle and his remarkable stage performances are considered top of the bill. During his frequent solo concerts he uses a loop machine, duplicating his voice over and over again. Furthermore he performs with his Gay Trio. Blaue Augen is the CD he recorded with the jazz formation JazzIndeed, consisting of young musicians who are equally at home in both the pop and jazz idiom.
