This year she already pointed it out in the newspapers. Her biggest dream? To sing at North Sea Jazz! The 14-year-old Kim Hoorweg, the High school of the Arts student from Vianen, got acquainted with jazz through her father, jazz pianist Erwin Hoorweg, and got completely hooked. Only seven years old, she formed a vocal group with friends, but got interested in the American Songbook because of her father's contribution to Trijntje Oosterhuis' jazz album Strange Fruit. The ever so young singer convincingly performed at her first major appearance at the Amersfoort Jazz Festival. A clear voice and a precise timing - agrees Oosterhuis, speaking of her protégée. Recently she signed a record deal with Universal. Kim - a budding star!
