A concert for guitar fans! In the mid-seventies Larry Carlton established his name with some magnificent guitar solos on the Steely Dan album The Royal Scam. Carlton developed a guitar style in which the use of the volume pedal was of major importance. In a poetic mood Joni Mitchell - Carlton played on her album Court and Spark - called the technique 'fly fishing'. Next to his longtime collaboration with The Crusaders, he didn't only work as a studio musician - he played thousands of sessions - but he also worked on an impressive solo career. Carlton performs in a special blues project featuring the brilliant electric guitar player Robben Ford. He was one of the founding members of the legendary Yellowjackets. Subsequently he worked with Miles Davis and Sadao Watanabe. Jazz may have his heart, but he feels most at home in the blues. At first he performed a lot with his band The Blue Line, but in the last few years he has recorded albums under his own name playing various shades of the blues.
