A band like Steely Dan doesn't really need any further introduction. Don't we all know the renowned songwriters duo Donald Fagen (keyboards and vocals) and Walter Becker (guitar and vocals) and their seventies' and eighties' hits including Rikki Don't Lose That Number, Hey Nineteen, AJA, Reelin' In the Years. They collaborated with pop and jazz greats like Michael McDonald, Wayne Shorter, Steve Gadd, Peter Erskine, Joe Sample, Chris Potter and many others. In 1980 they both went their own way to engage in a number of successful solo projects including Fagen's 1982 album The Nightfly. It wasn't until 1993 that Fagen and Becker teamed up again and, named Steely Dan, started touring again and recording once more. Two Against Nature, the first studio album in twenty years, received no less than four Grammy's. It was followed by the impressive Everything Must Go and, recently, Donald Fagen's solo album Morph the Cat. Their 2000 Ahoy concert was the last time they performed in The Netherlands.
