Trigon call their music - a mix of Moldavian folk, jazz, rock and symphonic music - ethnical jazz. The group was founded in 1992 because the musicians wished to play 'music for the soul'. Their debut CD, The Moldovan Wedding in Jazz was instantly rewarded with the Charles Cros Prize of the French Academy of Arts - not bad for a start. Viola player Anatol Stefanet, a virtuoso with an imposing solo career, is the leader of the band. Furthermore he's also the artistic director of the Moldavian Ethno Jazz Festival. At his side multi-instrumentalist Vali Bogheanu, a man who is capable of conjuring up masterly sounds from a wide selection of instruments. The band is completed by keyboard player Dorel Burlacu and drummer Gari Tverdohleb. Next to other East European jazz the 'music for the soul' can be heard on Friday in the Missouri.
