It's hard to keep your seat watching the gifted guitarist Anton Goudsmit perform in his characteristic fiery and passionate way. Having been a trustworthy sideman in the bands of Benjamin Herman, Eric Vloeimans and cellist Ernst Reijseger, he's able to unleash his ideas in his own quartet now. Together with sax player Efraïm Trujillo, Jeroen Vierdag on bass and Martijn Vink on drums, he plays 'intense and condensed funk-jazz that makes time fly', as stated the NRC Handelsblad. Grooves merge into improvisations and vice versa; the music effortlessly ricochets between jazz-rock, blues and swing. 2005 saw the release of the lively live registration Live op het Dak, during the VPRO Festival Jazz op het Dak.
