The Dutch city of Almere,
Lars Dietrich’s hometown, doesn’t represent Holland’s most swinging surroundings. Notwithstanding this minor drawback, the young saxophonist succeeded in capturing the interest of band leader and saxophonist Peter Guidi. Dietrich is one of the representatives of a new generation of talented jazz musicians in that big band and is also regularly featured as a guest soloist in Guidi’s Jazzmania Big Band. Dietrich is the co-founder of Keijzer 5, the young jazz band that also plays at North Sea. His own band boasts top musicians like saxophonist Jasper Blom, guitarist Jesse van Ruller, bassist Clemens van der Feen and drummer Flin van Hemmen. Lars Dietrich has performed at North Sea before: in 1998 he already filled the stage with his considerable talent.
