The Metropole Orkest is one of the world’s most famous jazz and pop orchestras. Because of its unique line up - a complete big band with a woodwind section and strings, harp and percussion - the orchestra is able to venture into miscellaneous music styles. The 52-piece ensemble has accompanied many renowned musicians and singers, such as Elvis Costello, Herbie Hancock, Gino Vanelli, Pat Metheny and John Scofield. The collaboration with flamenco guitarist Vicente Amigo is yet another new challenge and a musical highlight. The Sevilla born Amigo is one of the greatest flamenco and latin jazz guitarists of today. He has won a Latin Grammy Award for his penultimate CD and received various prestigious flamenco prizes for his work as a performer and a composer. Amigo played and recorded with Sting, Paco de Lucía, John McLaughlin and Al DiMeola. He also wrote the title track of the movie Hable con ella. The arrangements for the concert with the Metropole Orkest were written by Joan Albert Amargós, Eduardo del Barrio and Leo Brouwer.
