With the addition of Delfeayo Marsalis to the program, the Marsalis family is omni-present at the festival. Branford and Wynton's younger brother has been playing the trombone since he was 13 and has been working on a special career in jazz ever since. He toured with the bands of great names like Art Blakey, Abdullah Ibrahim, Elvin Jones, Slide Hampton and Max Roach, but also likes to play with his own modern jazz ensemble. He made three albums under his own name - the latest: Minions' Dominion - and is a much-in-demand producer. Delfeayo Marsalis also made a name for himself as a music teacher in jazz summer schools and as the founder of the Uptown Music Theatre for musical training. His band features the youngest Marsalis brother, Jason, on drums.
