Singer Abbi and his group Kikwetu represent a new urban sound in East Africa presenting a mix of calypsos, jazz and typical Kenyan benga and rumba. The vibrations of the Kenyan drums, the contemporary sounds, the lyrics in various African languages and the band-members' backgrounds, result in a unique band. Absalom 'Abbi' Nyanza, singer of Kikwetu says: “There are so many colors, but eventually there is only one rainbow. It's like that in the world, it's like that in Kenya and it's like that in Kikwetu.”
