The post-modern
Five Corners Quintet from Helsinki already made quite an impression during some concerts in Amsterdam. At the time it soon became clear that this unique ensemble, including a/o tenor saxophonist Eerio Koivistoinen, offers top-notch musicianship combined with a smooth danceable flow. Acoustic and dynamic jazz made for the dance floor, influenced by sixties soul jazz and Latin jazz. The Five Corners Quintet’s latest album
Chasin’ the Jazz Gone By was released last year. Their performance at North Sea Jazz is a part of a European tour.
