The Louisiana born guitarist and singer
Buddy Guy was one of the masterminds of the new Chicago blues generation that in the years to come heavily influenced artists like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix. As a senior citizen the guitarist still tours the world just as enthusiastically as before and, on top of that, also runs one of the biggest and most popular blues clubs in Chicago - Buddy Guy’s Legends. It is the blues that keeps this old blues-pioneer, who’s won three Grammy Awards, young, he sometimes jokes. Recently he released another new album,
Bring ‘Em In, featuring a parade of big names (Keith Richards, Carlos Santana, Keb Mo, John Mayer and Tracy Chapman - the latter also performs at the festival). Once again Guy proves to be a fiery performer, who succeeds in touching every note with bliss and soul.
