Doble Impacto is a genuine Cuban band based between Belgium and Cuba. They have been very successful in Europe playing at all the major festivals and have shared the podium with many of the top Salsa talents such as Manolito y su trabuco, Orquesta Aragon, Ricardo Lembo, Grupo Gale, Candido Fabré, Albita Rodriguez. Since instrumentist/componist Juan Carlos Rosquete (director)and pianist Javier Arenas (manager) formed Doble Impacto in November 1998, the band has become so popular in Europe that he says “I think everybody around knows the band, but in other places I guess it is different.” Strikingly besides Cuban salsa, Doble Impacto also brings Dominican merengue. This mix of cultures leads to a surprisingly beautiful result where the sultry Cuban melancholy blends into the dynamic Dominican music. The high musical caliber, the energy and the pleasure with which is performed, makes it that even the public can not sit. Even the furniture swings along! This gives their performances a wider spectrum to work in and ensures that their audience gets up to dance and enjoys themselves.
