The trio of the Russian pianist and composer Andrei Kondakov, well-respected in the motherland, has developed a remarkable personal style. Kondakov, trumpeter Vjacheslav Guyvoronsky and bassist Vladimir Volkow find each other blindfolded in contemporary high level improvisations, interlarded with elements from Russian jazz. Each one of them has paid his dues in the Russian scene, but also in Europe. Guyvoronskiy and Volkow were successful as the Leningrad Duo. Kondakov played with Randy Brecker, Eddie Gomez and Paul Bollenback. With the latter he recorded the album Alone and Together, a few years ago Jazz Album of The Year in Russia.
