Theo Loevendie and singer Kristina Fuchs worked together for the first time in Loevendie’s classical ensemble Ziggurat featuring unusual western and non-western instruments. At the beginning of this year she also sang Loevendie’s Six Turkish Folk Poems in Hannover as a soloist with Das Neue Ensemble. Curiosity for each others pasts drove the two artists to a further collaboration. Fuchs thought of a special Theo Loevendie program, featuring her own jazz group the Kristina Fuchs Sonic Unit; a program that revives the jazz past of this famous composer and improvising soprano and alto-saxophonist. It turned out to be a musical project presenting Loevendie’s compositions and a unique Sonic Unit addition. And it’s also a special celebration of Loevendie’s 75th birthday.
