It's downright smart, the debut of the young American singer/songwriter Amos Lee. His album, with the same name, is another typical CD that is being discovered, appreciated and consequently promoted by word of mouth. His pleasing songs, simple, pure and full of passion, are very touching. Lee, who accompanies himself on the guitar, presents a combination of soul, folk and a little bit of jazz. His career went sky high after singer Norah Jones invited him last year to be her support act during her European tour. Jones´ friend Lee Alexander signed for producing the album that was released by Blue Note and Jones herself even joins in on a couple of songs playing the piano. Life is full of surprises. One day you're a teacher, the next you're Amos Lee - a rising star.
