Jazz organ player Joey DeFrancesco was only sixteen when he was discovered by Miles Davis. He can, for instance, be heard on the well-known album Amandla. Since then DeFrancesco has worked with Illinois Jacquet, Milt Hinton, John Scofield and The Manhattan Transfer. He also recorded a couple of albums as a leader a.o. with Pat Martino. His album Legacy with the recently passed away Hammond virtuoso Jimmy Smith is high up in the charts now. On this occasion DeFrancesco and his trio will be assisted by the 1934 born tenor-saxophonist Houston Person. For the famed Prestige label, later for Muse and recently for High Note, Person recorded countless swinging groovy albums o.a. Sonny Philips, Cedar Walton, Cecil Bridgewater, Grant Green, Boogaloo Joe Jones and Joey DeFrancesco.
