Guitarist and composer Brad Shepik has always had a preference for Eastern European Balkan music. The American can't remember when this all started, but he's always been interested in string instruments and various playing techniques. He learned about Turkish folk music in his residence Seattle. After he moved to New York he met trumpeter Dave Douglas and together they explored folk music in a.o. groups the band Tiny Bell. Shepik also plays in bands like Pachora, the Matt Darriau's Paradox Trio and the Oscar Noriega Band. Not so long ago Shepik played with drummer Joey Baron's band Killer Joey in Rotterdam. This time the versatile guitarist presents his own trio, including Hammond organ and drums. New York down-town jazz.
