Singer Daniela Mercury blends traditional Brazilian samba with reggae. She’s reached the superstar status in Brazil and Asia. Night after night she dazzles the audience with her energetic performances. Mercury was born in the city of Salvador, Bahia. The propelling rhythms of that region are firmly entwined in her music. In addition to that she’s a beaming stage personality – she’s a foxy lady who knows how to dance because she used to be a professional dancer – and an impressive Latin big band. The final outcome: scintillating, steaming show. On her latest album Sou De Qualquer Lugar (2005) she sings material of Gilberto Gil, Lenine, Chico Science and Rita Lee, the Brazilian star that was very popular in the 60s and 70s.
