With Louie Vega North Sea Jazz, once again, has booked an exclusive artist. The multi-talented Vega could never be admired in a live project before. Vega, the other half of the American house producers duo Masters at Work, is no small fish. Masters at Work ascertained that the music of many pop artists became very danceable. The New York born Vega grew up with the Latin music played by his father and his uncle. Later he got interested in disco music and he started pursuing a DJ Career. ‘Little Louis’ became a household name in the New York night life, especially when he got a regular night at the legendary Studio 54. The encounter with his MAW pal Kenny Dope Gonzalez dates from the same period. Parallel to his MAW activities Vega also has a flashy solo project called Elements of Life. There he mixes genres like bossa nova, samba, jazz, salsa and afro-groove. Especially for this he formed band that accompanies him live while spinning his DJ set.
