Singer, composer and DJ Bembe Segue is a familiar name in the West-London broken beat scene. Therefore she was given the title Queen of Broken Beat, although her music includes a bit more than that. From age fourteen onwards she devoured all the vinyl she could get her hands on, listened to anything that caught her attention and became more and more knowledgeable about music. She started collaborating with producers from the underground scene, sang for example on the 4-Hero album Creating Patterns and was a guest on the Roy Ayers classic 2000 Back. A year ago she started releasing her own music. She leads a 14-piece band, mostly composed of jazz musicians, that, with all those Brazilian beats, is guaranteed to burn like hell.
