Holland in Jazz is the name of Loet van der Lee's special and original ode in jazz, photography and language to the 'forgotten' beauty of The Netherlands and her provinces. The small things make our country so beautiful, according to the trumpet and flügel horn player. On his initiative poems were written, series of photos have been shot, and from every province a prominent composer like Martin Fondse (Noord-Brabant) and Henk Meutgeert (Utrecht) was asked to write a musical ode. Van der Lee and his sextet - Simon Rigter (tenor sax), Ed Verhoeff (guitar), Robert Jan Vermeulen (piano, Fender Rhodes), Johan Plomp (double bass), Joost Kesselaar (drums) - will perform these twelve compositions with all their heart and soul. A contemporary salute to the country that raised them.
