Singer Tasha's World is one of the Netherlands' biggest soul talents at this point in time. She is fresh and positive, brings cheerful energetic music and she has a voice trained to sing good soul with jazz and hiphop influences. This lady from Rotterdam has a lot to offer and fortunately this can now be heard on her very first own album, the eponymous Tasha's World, for which she made regular visits to London. Singer Jill Scott was quite impressed when she heard Tasha sing during her after-party in Paradiso. She also convinced a lot of people with performances at the Noorderslag Festival in Groningen, at the Lowlands festival and in the TV special Paradiso Life: this girl is bursting with talent. So it was deservedly that Tasha's World recently pocketed a prestigious EMMA Award in London. She won this prize in the category "best world music act/production" and came first, outclassing other nominees such as Orchestra Baobab and Manu Chao.
