Last year the formation Switchback won both the Dordtse Jazzprijs and the Erasmus Jazzprijs. The group also was awarded the first prize of the jazzconcours of Breda. Switchback is in initiative of pianist and composer Jori Vuorinen. This musician, native of Finland, graduated with honors from the Conservatory of Rotterdam. Besides him the band consists of bass player Guus Bakker and drummer Jasper van Hulten. Switchback represents dreamy melodies, inspired by Keith Jarrett and Kenny Wheeler.
