For the fifth time the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) provides an attractive and educational jazz program at the festival with workshops, jam sessions and concerts school bands. The organization, which makes it it's object to develop jazz music worldwide through education and accompaniment, hands out scholarships to jazz students, scouts for talents and looks for mentors for them. The IAJE also commands composition assignments. The IAJE student Big Bands are highly esteemed guests at the festival, even it only was just for their unbridled effort and enthusiasm. These High School, University and Conservatory bands, where many an artist (think of Roy Hargrove, Winton Marsalis) started in, will present themselves in the Escherzaal. There will be performances by La Orquesta de Música Nueva, Dos Pueblos High School Jazz Choir, Rotterdam Conservatory Big Band, Texas Christian University Jazz Ensemble, University of North Florida Jazz Ensemble 1, The Almaty Youth Jazz Band, Cosumnes River College, Garfield High School Jazz Ensemble, The Conservatory of Amsterdam Big Band, Indiana Area Senior High School Jazz trio , Apple Valley High School Jazz Ensemble, FIU Latin Jazz Ensemble and the Capital University Big Band.
