Once Fay Claassen dreamed of a career as an actress; the music of Deborah Brown made her change her mind and find her passion in music. Her grand debut With a Song in My Heart was unique, the press was in shortage of superlatives to describe her first CD and moreover she was nominated for an Edison Award. Her second album did not go unnoticed either. Famous musicians like Mike Stern, Kenny Werner and Toots Thielemans all contributed to the fusion of jazz and world music on Rhythms and Rhymes. This year she will show us at the North Sea Jazz Festival what her last album is about. Specially Arranged for Fay is a project with the Millenium Jazz Orchestra conducted by Joan Reinders, and the talented vocalist will sing pieces of Bill Evans, Johnny Griffin, John Coltrane and Burt Bacharach.
