Beady Belle is the collective of vocalist Beate Lech and bass player Marius Reksjø, and is reputed as one of the new sounds coming from the Norwegian underground-scene. After finishing her education at the Norwegian Academy of Music Beate Lech sang with triphop-formation Folk & Rovere and was lead singer in jazz project Metropolitan. Marius Reksjø played bass in the band Insert Coin before he joined Eivind Aarsets' Electronique Noir and Bugge Wesseltofts' New Conception of Jazz. Their debut album, Home, brought about in co-operation with electronics pioneer Bugge Wesseltoft, was, as the title reveals, taped at the singers' home studio. The mixture of jazz, pop, techno, drum 'n' bass and ambient worked well, even beyond Norwegian borders. Beady Belle is now known as one of the leading acts of the progressive Jazzland-label. Recently the second album with the almost inexpressible title CEWBEAGAPPIC was released. Every letter stands for one element of Beady Belle's music. Charismatic Beate's sensual way of singing, the thrusting basslines of her musical partner, the triphop-beats, the jazzy improvisations, the blend of electronics, funk and soul, these ingredients all guarantee that one will be seized by this music from the very outset.
