The gypsy jazz Basily Gipsy Jazz plays has been heard at North Sea Jazz before. The Basilys have a thorough command of various styles, ranging from variations inspired by guitarist Django Reinhardt and violist Stephane Grappelli to Hot Club de France music and traditional Hungarian gypsy music. In 1991 the six, on violin, guitars and bass, recorded their first CD Antara, which became their showpiece during countless performances in radio and TV programs. They are trendsetters at many Django Reinhardt jazz festivals all over the world, and in addition, they perform regularly with their cousins in the Rosenberg Trio.
