The legendary Jay McShann ('Hootie') has had a firm seat for all these years. Even if the blues is declared dead or not, McShann always kept singing and playing the keys of his piano. Now he is 87 years old and rightly a living monument. His undoubtedly beautiful stories make it worthwhile to go and listen to this already unforgettable concert. With the catchphrase 'making memories fresh again' the indisputable blues man, whose music began to flourish in the Kansas City of the thirties, produces a mixture of classical jazz and blues music on a high plane. One of the most memorable feats of arms remains the fact that the yet unpolished talent of Charlie Parker was able to develop in the swing band of McShann. Jay McShann will be playing with the band of guitarist Duke Robillard, with whom he made the album Hootie's Jumpin' Blues and Still Jumpin' The Blues.
