For the fourth time, the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) is organising an attractive and educational jazz program at the festival with workshops, jam sessions and concerts by school bands. The organisation, who wants to develop jazz music world wide through education and guidance, grants scholarships to jazz students, scouts talent and finds appropriate mentors. The Spiegeltent is the location of education in informal setting again this year. The IAJE has found scores of young musicians who will have the opportunity to perform in an unconstrained manner. There are various Student Jam Sessions and of course a number of workshops with famous jazz musicians who are performing at the festival, including pianist Kenny Werner and accordionist Richard Galliano. Special concerts have been planned as well. The band Special Delivery performs work from their recently released CD Special Delivery with solely their own compositions.
