Yellowjacket bass player Jimmy Haslip already noticed. ”Sandro Albert is one of the best young contemporary guitarists. And as a composer he writes refined music.” The Brazilian guitarist and composer Sandro Albert, whose debut album Soulful People was recently released in The Netherlands, is part of the new class of talented musicians. Veteran musicians like drummer Peter Erskine, vocalist Milton Nascimento, percussionist Luis Conte, trumpet player Mark Isham and saxophone players Bob Sheppard and Kenny Garret were happy to contribute to the Brazilian's debut album. Four years ago Albert went to the United States for a holiday and auditioned with r&b/funk-group WAR. Later he worked with percussionist Luis Conte. With his own projects he got the attention of various musicians, who were attracted to his beautiful sound and splendid music. Albert will soon complete his second CD, named Zombie Train.
