The Oklahoma born Tuck Andress studied classical guitar at Stanford University before auditioning for a show band in Las Vegas, where he met Patti Cathcart, classically trained as well, from San Francisco. They hit it off right away and the two formed a duo, musically as well as amorously. Vocals and guitar are the two ingredients in Tuck & Patti's multifaceted music. Patti's magnificent voice is subdued and magical, while Tuck plays guitar true to the tradition of Joe Pass and Wes Montgomery. Jazz, pop, Latin and gospel are all combined in an inimitable way. During North Sea Jazz Festival 1999 the duo was presented with the Edison Jazz Award International for their album Paradise Found.
