Amalgam means a blending of elements, resulting in a richer material. This is exactly the thought the founders of Dutch/Danish band Amalgam have in mind: make music that combines the strongest sides of every member. Result is a unique and experimental sound. Saxophone player Cyrille Oswald (NL), pianist Morten Ginnerup (Denmark), bass player Gulli Gudmundson (Iceland) and drummer Erik Kooger (NL) have been co-operating for some years and last year they completed their debut CD Amalgam. Politiken, Denmark's biggest daily newspaper concluded: "A group that absolutely has to be heard and experienced live!"
