Almost all musicians hunt for new forms. One example of this is saxophone player Miguel Martinez (New Cool Collective, Martinez Trio, Pierre Courbois Tentet) who, together with his group Martinez Move, is searching for different musical possibilities through various ways and means. He describes his modern music as spacey, referring to the mystic, weird wave of sound the formation produces. Listen carefully and hear boogaloo, funk, soul, jungle and triphop. Singer Wies Ingwersen stayed after a guest performance and pianist Wiboud Burkens (Jazzmeteors), drummer Sebastiaan Kaptein (Jamesz) and bass player Johan Plomp have also been part of the band for some time now. Last year the formation Martinez Move released a new (fourth) record, titled 4:51 AM and they recently shone at the North Sea Jazz Festival in Cape Town.
