Red, Yellow & Blue is the trio of three very talented Dutch musicians. Tenor saxophone player Jasper Blom won the NOS Meervaart Jazz Concours and studied in New York with Dave Liebman. Blom is especially active with one of the most authoritative hardbop groups in Dutch jazz, Five Up High. Drummer Martijn Vink is playing himself into the picture more and more lately. He plays in the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, Jesse van Ruller's trio and his group Redux, the Brussels Jazz Orchestra and the Benjamin Herman 4tet. Bass player Frans van der Hoeven has also played with a large number of groups during his career: the Toon Roos Quartet, the Dutch Jazz Orchestra, the Curtis Clark Group, the Wim Overgauw Trio and more. The bass player also has a large share in the Jesse van Ruller Trio, whose beautiful CD Trio was recently released.
