The musical jack-of-all-trades Mike Keaneally cannot be pigeonholed easily. His music embraces elements of experimental pop and alternative rock as well as fusion and jazz. The Long Island born guitarist, keyboard player, singer, composer and producer learned the ropes in Frank Zappa's band. For years, he accompanied the pop phenomenon on various world tours and recorded albums with him. Zappa was very impressed with the guitarist, he described Keneally as 'The best new guy I ever had in the band'. With his accompanying band Beer for Dolphins Mike Keneally has gained a formidable live reputation over the years. The musician also has quite a few albums to his name, like the celebrated Dancing and Nonkertompf, which was arranged and performed live with four Dutch musicians for Dutch television during De Marathon in Groningen last year. The performance was a real sensation and the public there honoured it with a standing ovation that lasted for minutes. Keneally's newest, Wooden Smoke, was recently released and he will perform parts of it at this festival with guitarist/keyboard player Rick Musallam, bass player Bryan Beller and drummer Nick D'Virgilio
