Flexible like a free jazz group and infectious like a dance-formation. That is trio Zuco 103. The group with Brazilian vocalist Lilian Vieira, keyboard player Stefan Schmid and drummer Stefan Kruger sings very diverse tunes with jazzy grooves, Hip Hop samples, break-beats, drum 'n' bass, Brazilian lyrics and rhythms. Melody, sound and rhythm blend into a catchy cocktail of jazz, pop and dance which is extremely danceable. Zuco 103 has grown into one of the best live-acts of The Netherlands. Vocalist Lilian Vieira is a striking personality and is never distracted by the complicated dance-rhythms produced by Kruger (ex-SfeQ and ex-New Cool Collective) and Schmid (ex-New Cool Collective). Things have been going fast for Zuco 103, ever since they won the Heineken Crossover Award two years ago. The trio has performed at many festivals in The Netherlands, like Drum Rhythm, North Sea Jazz and Lowlands. Their first break-through however occurred abroad. Thus it did not take long before Zuco 103 performed at the prestigious London club 'The Jazz Café' and were noticed by Gilles Peterson, amongst other things DJ of GP Worldwide on BBC Radio. Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival Capetown and the Fête de la Musique in Paris are just some of the international festivals where Zuco 103 has been lined-up during the years. The long expected album Tales of High Fever, successor of debut Outro Lado, has just been released.
