On Friday, Mary J. Blige makes her debut at the festival. We can also announce the appearance of the most successful soul stars of the moment, John Legend and D'Angelo at the festival.

This year we celebrate the 40th edition of the festival we are very proud to present four artists who also played at the first edition. Alto saxophonist Lee Konitz will play with his quartet and with The Roots of the Blues pianist Randy Weston will make his appearance together with Billy Harper. The Dutch Han Bennink and Hans Dulfer, were also present in 1976 and are taking the North Sea Jazz stage again this year.

We can also announce Cassandra Wilson, Chaka Khan, Wayne Shorter Quartet, Anouar Brahem and Jef Neve.
